Seminar on The Language of Change A Geometrical Approach to Calculus. The Department of Mathematics, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad (Autonomous), organized a special academic programme on 22 December 2025 in connection with National Mathematics Day. The programme aimed at promoting mathematical thinking and commemorating the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan. The programme began at 10:00 AM in the Audio Visual Lab and was formally inaugurated by Dr. C. Rajesh, Principal of the college. In his inaugural address, Dr. Rajesh highlighted the fundamental role of mathematics in scientific development and emphasized the importance of calculus in understanding change and motion. He also appreciated the efforts of the Department of Mathematics in organizing an intellectually stimulating event. The keynote lecture titled “The Language of Change: A Geometrical Approach to Calculus” was delivered by Mr. Ramanujam R, Academic Resource Person in Mathematics, SCERT Kerala. The resource person explained basic notions of calculus such as limits, derivatives, and rate of change using geometrical representations. He effectively used GeoGebra to visually demonstrate these concepts, enabling students to relate algebraic expressions to graphical interpretations. The technology-assisted approach made the session engaging and facilitated better conceptual understanding. The lecture was interactive, and students actively participated by raising questions and sharing observations. The session successfully bridged the gap between theory and visualization, making calculus more accessible and meaningful to learners. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, the resource person, faculty members, and students for their valuable participation.
