Report on the IPR Awareness Programme Venue: MES Kalladi College – Ambedkar Hall Date: 5 March 2026 An Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness Programme titled “From Knowledge to Ownership: Understanding IPR in Research and Innovation” was conducted on 5 March 2026 at Ambedkar Hall, MES Kalladi College. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among students, researchers, and faculty members about the significance of Intellectual Property Rights in academic research and innovation. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Sreenivasan K P, IPR Cell Coordinator. In his address, he emphasized the importance of IPR awareness in higher education and highlighted the need for protecting innovative ideas and research outcomes. The presidential address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Jasmine P M, Principal of the college. She spoke about the growing relevance of intellectual property in the modern academic and industrial landscape and encouraged students and researchers to actively engage in innovative and creative pursuits. The formal inauguration of the programme was carried out by Dr. Pyary Hasna Mehthab C K, IPR Associate, University of Calicut. In the inaugural address, the speaker discussed the role of Intellectual Property Rights in fostering creativity, research excellence, and entrepreneurship. The keynote session on “From Knowledge to Ownership: Understanding IPR in Research and Innovation” was handled by Dr. Pyary Hasna Mehthab C K. The session provided valuable insights into various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and the process of protecting research innovations. The resource person explained the practical relevance of IPR in academic research and encouraged participants to transform knowledge into protected intellectual assets. The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members. The interactive session helped participants clarify their doubts regarding intellectual property protection and research commercialization. The programme concluded with feedback and a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Mohammed Musthafa T.N, PM-UShA Coordinator. He expressed gratitude to the resource person, principal, faculty members, organizers, and participants for making the programme successful and informative.
