From Idea to Enterprise: Building a Business from Scratch

Report on the Entrepreneur Meet “From Idea to Enterprise: Building a Business from Scratch” The Women Development Cell of MES Kalladi College (Autonomous), Mannarkkad organized an entrepreneur meet titled “From Idea to Enterprise: Building a Business from Scratch” on 12 March 2026 at Ambedkar Hall from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The program was conducted with the support of PM–USHA (Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) and aimed to inspire students by introducing them to successful women entrepreneurs and their journeys. The program began with a prayer, followed by the welcome speech delivered by Ms. Priya Velayudhan, Coordinator of the Women Development Cell. In her address, she welcomed the guests, speakers, and students and highlighted the importance of encouraging young women to explore entrepreneurship and leadership opportunities. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Jasmine P. M., Principal of MES Kalladi College (Autonomous), Mannarkkad. She emphasized the significance of innovation, determination, and entrepreneurial thinking among students and encouraged them to transform creative ideas into meaningful and sustainable ventures. The keynote session featured inspiring talks by four entrepreneurs: Ms. Swathy N. S., Founder of Dyversa; Ms. Amritha Bageesh, Founder of RicHabit; Ms. Anju Suresh Kumar, Managing Director of Softronics; and Ms. Fahmi Rasmin, Founder of Magic Hook. The speakers shared their personal entrepreneurial journeys, discussing the challenges they encountered, the importance of perseverance, and the strategies that helped them build successful enterprises from scratch. The session also gave students insights into startup culture, opportunities for women entrepreneurs, and the importance of confidence and innovation in business. The interactive session that followed allowed students to ask questions about starting a business, overcoming initial challenges, and balancing professional responsibilities. The speakers responded with practical advice and motivating experiences that encouraged students to think creatively and pursue their ideas. Felicitations were delivered by Dr. Jaleel T. K., Vice Principal of MES Kalladi College (Autonomous), and Ms. Sajna A., Assistant Professor, Department of English, who appreciated the initiative of the Women Development Cell in organizing such a meaningful program that promotes women empowerment and entrepreneurial awareness among students. As a mark of appreciation, mementos were presented to the resource persons for their valuable contribution to the event. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Shajitha A., Coordinator of Udhyami, who expressed gratitude to the speakers, college authorities, organizers, and students for their support and participation. The program was an inspiring and enriching experience that encouraged students to develop entrepreneurial thinking and explore new possibilities in the field of business.
