REPORT OF THE RESEARCH METHODOLOGY WORKSHOP Organised by the Department of Botany, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad Date: 2 December 2025 The Department of Botany, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad (Autonomous) organized a Research Methodology Workshop on 2nd December 2025 at the college Computer Lab. The workshop focused on the theme “Mendeley for Academics: Organizing References, Conducting Literature Reviews, and Avoiding Plagiarism.” The session was conducted with the objective of equipping students and research aspirants with essential skills for managing academic references and maintaining research integrity. The programme commenced at 10:00 AM with the Welcome Address delivered by Shahana Jasmi A, Coordinator of the workshop. She highlighted the importance of reference management tools and emphasized the relevance of research ethics in academic writing. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Nazeema MK, Head of the Department of Botany. She discussed the growing need for digital competence in research and appreciated the initiative taken by the department. This was followed by the Inaugural Address by Dr. C. Rajesh, Principal of MES Kalladi College. In his inaugural remarks, he stressed the importance of adopting advanced research methodologies and encouraged students to develop a strong research culture. The Felicitation was offered by Dr. Syama Psychod, Department of Zoology, who congratulated the organisers for conducting a workshop beneficial for the academic community. The technical session was handled by Ms. Saliha, Librarian, MES Asmabi College, Kodungallur. She provided an in-depth demonstration of Mendeley—including installation, reference importing, citation styles, PDF management, literature review methods, and techniques for avoiding plagiarism. The session was highly interactive, and participants gained hands-on experience with the software. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Faseeh K, expressing gratitude to the resource person, dignitaries, organisers, and participants for making the workshop a success
