Report on Mock Budget Presentation The Department of Economics at MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, organized a Mock Budget Presentation on 15th October 2025. The program was a student initiative led by final-year BA Economics students under the guidance of Dr. Anu Joseph, the faculty coordinator. The event aimed to provide students with practical exposure to budget preparation, fiscal policies, and economic decision-making. The event was inaugurated by Ramadas M., Head of the Department, who highlighted the importance of understanding national budgets and their impact on the economy. He encouraged students to actively participate and use the opportunity to develop analytical and presentation skills. The mock budget session was structured to simulate a real parliamentary budget scenario. Students were assigned different roles, with Ayisha as the Speaker and Lisemol as the Finance Minister. Other participants included Ashraf, Swalih, Haneef, Afsal Mon, Jisna, Fathima Sherin, Pooja, Shifana, Akhilesh, Jinil, Ansar, Shafeer, Fashir, Minha, Hiba, Prajith Raj, and Thashreef. Each participant presented different segments of the budget, including revenue, expenditure, and policy proposals, followed by discussions and debates. The program successfully demonstrated the effectiveness of fiscal planning and decision-making. Students not only gained theoretical knowledge but also practical experience in public speaking, teamwork, and critical analysis. The interaction between participants and faculty created a lively and educational atmosphere. In conclusion, the Mock Budget Presentation was a highly successful initiative that enhanced students’ understanding of economics and fiscal policy. The faculty coordinator and HoD appreciated the efforts of all participants and encouraged more such programs to strengthen practical learning and skill development among students.
