Women Empowerment Awareness Campaign in association with ICDS Mannarkkad Division as part of MoU
Report on Women Empowerment Awareness Campaign The Department of Economics, MES Kalladi College, Mannarkkad, in collaboration with ICDS Mannarkkad Division, organized a Women Empowerment Awareness Campaign on 9th September 2025 at Ambedkar Hall. The programme, conducted from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm, was organized as a part of the MoU activity between the two institutions. It witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 85 students from both UG and PG courses, along with faculty members and invited guests. The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Ramadas M, Head of the Department of Economics, who emphasized the need for continuous discussions on gender equality and empowerment. The campaign was formally inaugurated by Dr. C. Rajesh, Principal of MES Kalladi College, who highlighted the importance of empowering women as a means of ensuring holistic social development. The key resource persons of the programme were Ms. Adeena and Ms. Hayarunneasa, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO). They engaged the audience with insightful talks on vital topics such as women’s safety, health, and hygiene, stressing the importance of awareness, self-protection, and access to available welfare measures. Their sessions also shed light on practical steps to ensure women’s dignity and well-being in everyday life. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Anu Joseph, whose efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the campaign. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Ambili S, who acknowledged the contributions of the resource persons, dignitaries, and participants in making the campaign a success. Overall, the Women Empowerment Awareness Campaign created a platform for meaningful dialogue on issues concerning women and served as an inspiring step towards promoting gender equality and social responsibility among the academic community.
